SAVI Communications
:

Open Workshops

For anyone interested in having more powerful, productive and satisfying conversations, we offer many open SAVI® trainings and workshops each year. These trainings provide a way of understanding How communication works and What you can do to make decision making, conflict resolution, problem solving, interest sharing, and intimacy easier in your personal or professional life.

SAVI Training Pathways

These open workshops, offered by certified SAVI trainers in various locations around the country, allow individuals to deepen their understanding of SAVI theory and application. We invite you to attend as many workshops as you’d like, increasing in depth as you learn.

Note on using SAVI: We encourage all workshop participants to use SAVI to track and modify your own behavior at home, with clients, and at work. There are two additional guidelines to keep in mind:

  • SAVI materials are copyrighted and may not be reproduced.
  • To offer trainings specifically identified as SAVI, you must be a certified SAVI Trainer. This protects the SAVI trademark, guaranteeing that training events identified as SAVI have integrity in theory and application. With an addditional SAVI training after the basic workshop you may begin to use SAVI as a tool with your clients — starting to map their communication behaviors and make input to their communication patterns. Upcoming Workshops

PHILADELPHIA, PA

SAVI® THREE-DAY INTERMEDIATE WORKSHOP:
Theory, Coding, Application

with Claudia Byram and Fran Carter

In-depth mastery of SAVI deepens your use of this tool by broadening your ability to think about the implications of the ideas behind SAVI, to link these ideas to behavior and to generate ideas about the system producing them — that is, a diagnosis of the system.

In this workshop we will focus on:

  • Honing the ability to produce behaviors accurately
  • Thinking through coding criteria while actually coding live material
  • Creating dialogues for coding that demonstrate particular SAVI theoretical constructs and linking them to behavioral outputs
  • Exploring how to organize the data collected to give a picture of the communication pattern from which a diagnosis can be made

Goals:
1) Grasp of theory underlying SAVI
2) Connect theory to system patterns
3) In-depth skill in recognizing (coding) and producing behaviors

Dates: October 27-29, 2018
Time: All day each day
Fee: $650

SAVI® TWO-DAY FOUNDATION WORKSHOP:
Foundations of SAVI: Observing Behavior, Seeing Systems at Work, in Therapy, at Home and in Ourselves

with Claudia Byram and Fran Carter

SAVI (System for Analyzing Verbal Interactions) maps communication behaviors that contribute noise and those that build clarity in any human system: organizations, work groups, families, clients and everyday life. Learn to recognize repetitive, unproductive communication loops as well as system patterns that free energy for problem-solving and work.

Goals:
1) Explore the flow through the SAVI Grid from red/yellow to yellow/green
2) Widen the range of "alert" recognition and change strategies
3) Examine SAVI as a tool for real-world change
4) Begin practice in training others to undo Red patterns and to undo alerts that trigger others into Red Light behavior

Dates: November 17-18, 2018
Time: All day each day
Fee: $450

Output: Linking SAVI with the Systems-Centered®
Construct of Role — Series of 6 Sessions on Zoom

concept of Role
2) To develop an understanding of verbal behavior as the output
of a Role System
3) To use SAVI to map and identify functional roles as well as past
adaptive roles
4) Explore ways to modify role output
